Somebody’s been eating our porridge! Somebody’s been sleeping in our beds! Goldilocks, girl, there are indeed bears in your house, but in this fairy tale they’re making the gayest music videos ever recorded and there’s no sleeping going on in those beds, that’s for sure.
Netherlands-based Bearforce1 is billed as the first all-gay singing group made up entirely of bears. Sorta like the Pussycat Dolls pioneering the way as the first group made up solely of skanks with STDs.
With the release of their newest single, Shake That Thing!, Bearforce1 is poised to take over the video screens of gay bars everywhere. The new song isn’t yet available for stateside download (though we’re sure you techy types can figure out something), but their first release is already on iTunes and the Boys, Boys, Boys! chorus is our favorite new ring tone.
Unfortunately, the band members still have day jobs and the songs have been coming out slowly since their first song in 2007. And by slow, we mean three. Yep, just three songs. (Madonna puts out more singles between breakfast and lunch.)
But the videos accompanying each song are a dizzying array of intentional (and unintentional) camp and cheese from start to finish, like a cross between ABBA and a Mentos commercial. But the catchy hooks will leave you singing and shaking your thing all day long.
Watch out, Village People, there are new queens in town. And they’re really hairy.
