Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Fashion First

Whether you prefer tops or bottoms, versatility is the name of the game when it comes to dressing up for our hot list of happenings.

For cheap pizza, all it takes is a skimpy little Speedo. Heading to the movies will require pulling out the old fishnets and high heels while prepping your vocal cords to sing along with a few of the strangest people in town. Then choose to end your weekend with either the top designers in fashion at a high-end runway show or by wearing Daisy Dukes and a rope belt while eating chili dogs next to the Tilt-A-Whirl. No matter your taste, or lack thereof, we’ve gotcha covered.

Fairly Fun
North Texas State Fair
Through Saturday, August 23
To us, the Texas State Fair is like an Olympic event. One we have to train for in advance to stretch out our stomachs enough to get our adequate fill of fried food. So consider the North Texas State Fair the preliminary qualifying round for your non-competitive eating hobby and love of livestock and carnies. With music, rodeo events, completely “safe” rides and plenty of events at the “Sausage Fun Zone,” we’re so there.

It’s DIVA Season (Get Your Hunting License)
Dallas Independent Volleyball Association Season Begins
Friday, August 22, 7:30 p.m. – Midnight
Come cheer on your fave volleyball teams as the DIVA volleyball season kicks off. (Or would that be “serves up?”) Either way, these games are fast-paced and fun. (People fall on their faces!)

Damn It, Janet!
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Saturdays at Midnight, through December 20
Put on your best Frank-N-Furter (we’re trying to work a tubular meat reference into every entry this week it seems) and get ready to do the Time Warp with the live professional cast from Los Bastardos in Fort Worth. Relive college days or see the one and only Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time. It’s the movie that made sweet transvestites from Transsexual, Transylvania all the rage. Now, they’re on the endangered species list. So sad.

Would You Like Sausage With That?
Swimsuit Sundays (for the remainder of August)
11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
We imagine a line of people in trench coats waiting to flash the poor cashier at i Fratelli Pizza, but it’ll probably be somewhat less insidious. Show up to any of the local pizzerias locations wearing a swimsuit and you’ll walk out with 16 inches for just $5. Oh, that’s a pizza size, by the way.
