Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

One Good Intern Deserves Another

With Halloween far behind us and the Marie Antoinette wigs tucked neatly back into storage, we’ve already moved on to our next big “to do” – primping for Black Tie Dinner.

Picking the shoes was a no-brainer as Kenneth Cole is the keynote speaker, and the Black Tie part made the outfit color choice easy (sorry, gold-sequined tuxedo).

Now it’s just a question of breaking out the “Obama 4 Ever” cufflinks or going with the jewel-encrusted HRC logo lapel pin. Hmm, guess it depends on which one will catch the eye of Ross Matthews (a.k.a. Ross The Intern), the newly announced surprise guest at this year’s dinner.

Fans of The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and Celebrity Fit Club will know Matthews for his high-talking (not that we can throw stones), as well as his gossipy celebrity interview style.

Over the years, he’s rubbed elbows with Clooney, gone shopping with Gwyneth and even co-hosted The View. And now, he’s bringing his signature sass (and video camera) to Black Tie’s legendary dinner.

Prepare your best awkward on-camera smile! Rumor has it he may even be running around DFW a day early to get the goods on our fair city, too.

Also, new this year for Black Tie is online ticketing. We know, not such a new concept in 2008, but new to the organization.

If you’ve ever tried to get last-minute tickets you’ll really appreciate this. Used to be that you had to leave a message and get a call back on ticket status, kind of like eBay meets phone tag. Now you can buy tickets direct from the world wide interweb.

Guess all we are missing now is a date? Maybe we can find one of those online, too.
