Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Flannel, Mullets & Pink Flamingos

It’s no secret that Gay List Daily loves Uptown Players. And Del Shores. So now that the two are joining forces, we’re more excited than a duct tape salesman at a drag queen rodeo.

Mining comedic and dramatic gold from what he knows best, Shores’ latest tale of trashy Texans is a bit more serious than his most famous work to date, Sordid Lives. Rest assured, The Trials And Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife is filled with all the craziness we’ve come to love from the twisted, talented mind of Shores.

But like his Southern Baptist Sissies, there’s a serious side to the tale and he’s a master of tapping into our emotions when we least expect it. Sneaky bastard, we came to laugh!

The story centers around Willadean Winkler (Cindee Mayfield) and her abusive husband, J.D. (TA Taylor) as his actions toward her escalate to the point of no return. Her best friend LaSonia (Laura Warner) and a trashy cocktail waitress named Rayleen Hobbs (Melissa Jobe) round out the cast, while Crystal Ramon provides musical drama as she sings blues songs that help tell the story.

So basically, you’re getting one helluva sweet deal in Trailer Trash Housewife. It’s a musical, drama and comedy all rolled into one. And if you’re lucky enough to score tickets to opening night, you’ll be in the company of celebrity greatness. We’ll be there!

Oh, and so will Del Shores. But we have more Sharpies and headshots handy.
