Warehouse shopping is like dating rough trade; we do it for the rush of adrenaline knowing we could be knifed at any moment. So don’t be discouraged by the off-the-beaten-path location of Nadeau Imports, because behind its cinderblock exterior is a beautiful collection of furniture just begging to take up residence in your place.
But fair warning, you had better have a big house. Not that every piece is oversized, although many of them are quite substantive, but really it’s the bulky cuts and vibrant patterns of many of their pieces that will certainly dominate any room. (It’s a quality we admire in ourselves and look for in our furnishings.)
It used to be that Nadeau was open to licensed interior designers only, and although they’ve changed their opinion about La Publique they haven’t committed all the way, which makes finding the price tags a tad more difficult than your run-of-the-mill trip to Pier 1.
However, in the end, you’ll be presently surprised by the affordable nature of these exotic imports.
And speaking of exotic imports, maybe our gaggle (faggle?) of live peacocks has arrived. We thought they would be the perfect accent to our new armoire.
Well, it was either that or throw pillows!
