When a salon is hot enough to get its own reality show, that’s a place we want to get our hair cut (just turn the cameras off when we’re getting our color done, thank you). For those of you who don’t remember, Sheer Dallas was on TLC back in 2005 and helped solidify Salon Pompeo as one of the top salons in town for the well-coifed, tiny-dog-toting socialites.
But that was then. The cameras are off, the hair-cutting divas are tucked back in their beds and the focus is once again completely on the hair. And guess what? You don’t have to be a rich bitch to get a great cut.
From the moment you walk in and are greeted by a tiny little twink, the new Hotel Palomar location is abuzz with the sounds of scissors clipping, dryers drying and champagne glasses clinking. Or if bubbly isn’t your style, they’ve got dozens of other beverage choices, including a wide variety of beers, wines and soft drinks.
Oh yeah, we’re gonna come here often.
So what led us to this sequel site? Why, none other than our favorite fag-hag hairdresser, Courtney Hammonds, the greatest thing to happen to gay hair since Sun-In and faux-hawks. You may remember our praise of her before at another house of hair, but we’re glad she made the move. If for no other reason than her last place had really, really, really ugly art.
Even if you’re happy with your current hairdresser or salon, give Pompeo a shot. Because really, we’ve seen your ’do now and it’s time for a change. Tell Courtney that Gay List sent you and get ready for the most fun you’ve ever had in a barber chair.
Well, except for that one time you dated that Italian hairdresser with those gorgeous pecs.
