As much as we like tradition (evident in our annual monthly weekly hookup with that guy we met in the bushes at Reverchon Park on an Atlantis cruise six years ago), we also like to change things up a bit (evident in the fact that he sometimes brings a donkey). This year, we’re ready to ditch the turkey and create an elegant dinner that will have our friends and family both happy and a little bit jealous of our abundant culinary sophistication.
After sixteen hours of watching 30 Minute Meals with Rachael Ray on our TiVo, we were about to give up hope. Her appetizing-yet-pedestrian Easy Peesy Turkey Sammies with Yum-O Smashed Potatoes just didn’t fit the elegant criteria we had imagined. But then an alert hit our inbox that made us so excited we think we wet ourselves a little. (OK, we know we did, but we don’t exactly want to make that public knowledge.)
This Monday night, Craft’s Chef de Cuisine, Jeff Harris, will be teaching a cooking class at Central Market featuring recipes that will forever change the way you think of Thanksgiving dinner. Filled with the flavors of autumn (you know, dry leaves and the like), each dish features seasonal ingredients that will make even the pickiest pilgrim proud.
During the class, you’ll watch as he prepares Pan Roasted Duck Breast with Turnips and Apples, Whole Roasted Red Snapper with Orange, Fennel and Nicoise Olives, Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Applewood Smoked Bacon and Apple Cider Reduction, Roasted Wild Mushrooms, Hubbard Squash Purée and Braised Red Cabbage.
Best of all, he’s cute and you get to taste the delicious food.
