Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Probable Claus

Leave it to the Turtle Creek Chorale to take something super-gay and make it even gayer. This year, the men’s chorus presents A Very Special Holiday Special, a two-part show that skewers the Wizard of Oz, Santa Claus and a shark named Jaws. (OK, the Great White reference is fake, but we were on a rhyming roll!)

The first half of the show is a mini-musical following a character named Donald, who falls asleep while watching Dorothy and her favorite flying monkeys on TV. Soon, he’s lost in the “Land of Claus.” Joined by a chipmunk, a turkey, a reindeer and a sad-sack Kris Kringle, he journeys along the Peppermint Road to find the Wizard, who can answer all their burning holiday questions. (Snuggie or Slanket? Stuffing or Dressing? Nat King Cole or Kathie Lee Gifford?) You get the picture.

Expect your stomach to jiggle like a bowl full of jelly from all the laughter, but you’ll also get your yearly dose of traditional holiday songs as only the TCC can sing them during the second half.

The show takes place at the holiday-colored AT&T Performing Arts Center Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House (ATTPACMBWOH for short) with four performances next weekend.

This is one of the hottest holiday tickets in town and they always sell quickly, so don’t delay—or regret it. For. The. Rest. Of. Your. Life.

Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for the 20th annual toy drive benefiting Parkland and Children’s Hospitals.
