Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

The Captain & Tequil(a)

Stubing. Kirk. Crunch.

History is filled with famous captains that have made a difference in the world, but now you have the opportunity to meet (or be!) a captain with an entirely different mission.

If you’ve never been to Black Tie Dinner, then the time is now to plan ahead for this year’s extravaganza. Many people (us included) consider it one of the biggest social events of the year. It’s a chance to dress up, eat great food, meet famous celebrities and even buy items right off their bodies (you heard about Sharon Stone and her $20,000 shoes, right?), all while raising money for GLBT organizations right here in North Texas.

But there’s a ton of planning that goes into this event (not unlike our dog’s recent Quinceañera). And one of the biggest responsibilities falls to the Table Captains, whose sole job is to fill seats at their tables, one of the main methods of fundraising for the event.

So this Wednesday, join Black Tie Dinner for a special Happy Hour Event at Mextopia (the newest restaurant from Ricardo Avila, who previously brought us amazing food over on Maple Avenue). This is one fiesta that’s equal parts tequila, shaken with a splash of Black Tie Dinner education, all topped off with one of those pretty little umbrellas. You’ll have the opportunity to meet table captains and learn how to get your tickets for the dinner or even become a captain yourself. (Think of the power. And all the saluting!)

Enjoy $5.00 top shelf margaritas or $2.75 beer and $3.00 well drinks, plus complimentary chips, salsa, guacamole and chile con queso. It’s the biggest happy hour leading up to the biggest party of the year and if you’re reading this, you’re cordially invited.
