Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Return Of The 80s

Sam He Is

Sexy Sam Harris is in town this weekend and we can’t wait. He got his start on Star Search back in the 1980s, and quickly rose to stardom. Even Oprah’s said that “Sam Harris can make Jesus walk in the door!” And we all know the Big O doesn’t throw her endorsements around lightly.

For one night only, he’ll be performing at the Interfaith Peace Chapel as part of their 40 Days & 40 Nights charity fundraising events. It’ll be an evening of Broadway tunes and pop classics, with even a little U2 and Christmas music thrown in to keep things good and diverse.

Best of all, we’ve got the hookup on a discount! Simply print out this e-mail and bring it to the box office, show the story on your smartphone, or mention Gay List Daily when you call for tickets and receive $5 off the $20 admission price. Personally, we’d pay full price just for a couple hours to stare at him and dream of the soft, sweet lullabies he’ll sing to us after he takes us home for a late dinner, cupcakes and a full-body massage. But we won’t blame you if you want to save some cash. Just don’t count on a goodnight kiss.

Starck Reminder

The artist formerly known as P. Diddy, then Diddy, now Diddy-Dirty Money is coming to Dallas this weekend. Sure, we realize he may be a little lower on your gay wish list than say the triumphant return of Gaga or Clay Aiken dancing at The Tin Room, but he’s going to be at a club that’s a huge part of Dallas nightlife history.

For those of you too young (us included) to remember, there once upon a time was a spectacular club in Dallas called Starck Club, a nightspot compared to Studio 54 and designed by none other than famed designer Philippe Starck. It instantly became the hottest place in town for everyone from socialites to transvestites and was long considered one of the great gay hangouts in town. We weren’t old enough for the original, but we did go to the re-opening in the 1990s, when RuPaul was the featured performer.

Well, times have changed. Now more than 25 years after the club first opened, it’s back under a new name: Zouk, which is French for celebration. It’s going to be an extravagant, Las Vegas-style ultra-lounge and should be a great place to people-watch like nowhere else in town.

This Saturday is the official grand opening and Diddy will be in the house to mark the occasion. General admission is $25 for ladies and $50 for gentlemen. It’s a black-tie opening and reservations are required by emailing RSVP@zoukdallas.com, so hurry if you still want to be a part.

But the big event of the night is the VIP, invitation-only pre-party with free food and drinks. It’s only an hour long, but we’re able to get one lucky reader and a guest on the list at the front door, so fill out our contact us form before noon today and include your phone number so we can contact you if you’re a winner.

Then soon, you too can be rubbing elbows (and bumpin’ uglies) with Diddy-Dirty himself. And you’ll get to hang with us, too, which we’ve been told is an even bigger privilege.
