Not since a stone was rolled away to reveal a big empty tomb has there been more chatter about a major event. And no, we’re not talking about the upcoming season finale of Say Yes to the Dress. We’re talking about Easter in the Park, one of the biggest days on the Dallas Gay Calendar (it’s really big and kept in a secret vault under The Round-Up Saloon).
There were rumors that the event wasn’t happening, but we’re here to make sure everyone knows that it is not just happening, it’s gayer than ever. Pack a picnic brunch and plan to spend the day parading around in your most understated bonnets (like the ones in the photo above) or trotting out your doggie’s finest for the Pooch Parade, emceed by the glorious, uproarious, valedictorious, unclogmyporious, you’readirtywhorious Paul J. Williams.
Even the Dallas Symphony is returning to prove that blowing and emptying spit valves doesn’t have to be stuffy, snooty or boring. Maybe they’ll play Gaga. Perhaps a show tune or TV theme? You won’t know if you don’t show.
Here’s the complete breakdown of times and events, so plan your Champagne-to-Orange Juice ratios carefully.
