Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Caroline For A Change

As we told you a couple of months ago, Black Tie Dinner is turning the big 3-0 this year and we couldn’t be more excited.

Like any gay thirty year old, they’re looking for ways to freshen up their lives and stay current. (Of course, we know nothing about that. We’re hovering 29 for the fifth or sixth time.) Some of us start working out (more). Some of us finally give up Abercrombie and choker necklaces (really, please give them up). And some of us turn to a woman. Wait, WHAT?!

For the first time in the history of this fun celebration of all things gay, Black Tie Dinner will have a celebrity master of ceremonies. (No, Sharon Stone wasn’t the emcee in 2005…she just thought she was.) This year’s host is none other than the hilarious, smart and spontaneous Caroline Rhea!

She’ll be keeping it light and funny (and moving along) while we celebrate victories of the past year and honor those who help make a difference in our community…all while raising more than a million dollars for local LGBT and AIDS organizations, as well as Human Rights Campaign Foundation. This year’s theme is “SHINE!” – celebrating the people and organizations that continually “shine” to better the lives of our community.

Table captain sales for what’s certain to be a sell-out event started last week and it’s not too late to get in on the action. In fact, it’s never been easier! They’ve set up a nifty website where you can sign up, organize your table of ten and even invite your friends to pony up directly to Black Tie Dinner for their tickets.

Sponsorships are also currently available (get the best seats for just a little more!).

If you’ve been to Black Tie Dinner before, you know what a fun, empowering celebration it is and how the dinner supports so many organizations in our local community that do so much. And, if you’ve never been, this is the year you don’t want to miss.
