We’ve come such a long way from our college days of well drinks and wine coolers. Unfortunately, as we get exposed to higher and higher end liquor, we’re becoming impossible to deal with at the bar.
Complicated order! That’s what the bartenders are saying under their breath. But now, we’ve discovered a vodka so lush and complex that our cocktail of choice has become significantly less involved.
Introducing U’Luvka, our staff bartender’s new best friend. Gleaming high above the bar in a stunning curved bottled, this ultra-premium brand is so smooth, we now order it on the rocks. With a twist of lemon. A wedge of lime (unsqueezed). And a dash of orange. Stirred, not shaken. No straw, please.
See, our order is easy now! The blend of wheat, barley and rye makes for a layered combination of flavor notes that keeps this one interesting sip after sip with no need for mixers.
But if you’re not the drinking professional we are, perhaps a cocktail with U’Luvka is what the liver doctor ordered. And we’ve got the official cocktail of summer at our house. It’s called the Electric Eel (recipe follows), and it was created by Master Mixologist Colin Asare-Appiah for Rushchmeyer’s in Montauk. (Trust us, that’s a big deal. He’s nominated for a Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Award – like the Academy Awards for booze lovers.)
With U’Luvka, we could drink Electric Eels all day. And you know what, we just might.
