When we were kids, there was one game we always excelled at: dodge ball. After all, we were so good at avoiding it in all the other sports like football, basketball, baseball and soccer that it when the actual goal was to dodge the ball, we were suddenly picked for teams first instead of the last.
So we plan on having a few flashbacks this weekend at LifeWalk Waterpalooza, a dodge ball fundraising event leading up to the big walk in October. But even better than that big red ball in school, this version features water balloons, creating an interesting moral and competitive dilemma. It’s been so hot outside, we may decide to sacrifice the gold medal and get hit just to cool off. Plus show off why we also frequently win wet T-shirt contests. (At women’s bars.)
But that’s ok. Winning here doesn’t only happen on the blacktop behind S4. It’s all about the raffle tickets, baby. Prizes include a 42-inch flat screen LCD HDTV, two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines, or a Blackberry Torch 9800 smartphone, so make sure to gather together a team (or come on your own and join another) then show off your mad dodging skills.
As for us, we’ll be in full jock mode trying to take home the coveted title and trophy for being Waterpalooza champion. Because watersports are also second nature to us.
