Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

An Awkward Night With Friends

To visit AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com is to love AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com.

We’ve had more than a few pictures in our photo album library that were plenty bizarre, but unfortunately they were all considered too inappropriate for the site.

Like the photo of our sister opening up her first Barbie in front of the Christmas tree in the foreground, our eventually convicted serial-killer cousin stabbing Uncle Chuck in the heart near the stockings on the fireplace, slightly out of focus in the back. Funny, sure, but “too graphic, thank you.”

Ditto the group shots of the whole clan from our annual trip to visit the grandparents at Sunny Cracks Nudist Retirement Village in Tampa.

But that’s ok. We still love the hilarious web site and now, the board game created to poke fun some of the great Awkward Family Photos of all time.

It’s our favorite kind of board game because there’s very little strategy involved. We simply get to think up zany scenarios and snarky comments about one of 124 included photos. One roll of the 20-sided die (hello, Dungeons & Dragons flashbacks!) and the group will be directed to a task pertaining to the photo card at play.

It could be as simple as coming up with a title for a photo, or determining what took place immediately after it was shot. Every player except the roller writes down a response and it’s up to the roller to not only guess which player wrote each comment, but also vote for the funniest caption.

It’s a great party game, and a really fun way to get to know the strange thoughts swirling around in your friends’ heads.

Of course, it isn’t long before the entire game turns X-rated, but that’s just how we roll – the 20-sided die.
