Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

PJ Party

If laughter is the best medicine, then Paul J. Williams deals in the ha-ha equivalent of 99.99% pure methamphetamine, our ears anxious to be injected with multiple doses of hilarity. In fact, his wit is so addictive that watching him perform live should classify as partaking of a controlled substance.

Thankfully, nearly everything about the comedian is entirely legal. Except maybe his Sunday goin’-to-church tiara, which we have on good authority is made from the bones of orphaned polar bear babies and made to sparkle from the old fillings of go-go boys.

But now, as one of many great shows in Uptown Players’ Dallas Pride Performing Arts Festival, we can all get high on guffaws and giggles as he presents his multimedia show, Triple Crown Queen.

Over the years, Williams and his various other personalities have taken to the stage to poke fun at anyone and everyone. But this time, things are different. Because this time, the skeletons coming out of the closet are big and gay. And all his own.

Through a series of stories combined with photos and videos chronicling his days as a “creative child,” to his current self-proclaimed status as a “pink-list celebrity,” the show is hilarious, but also heartfelt, heartwarming, and if you eat Cheerios before the curtain goes up, heart smart.

Besides, what else are you gonna do at 9:00 p.m. on a Tuesday night, watch a repeat of Private Practice?
