Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

A Walk In The Park (And Beyond)

Summertime 5K runs in Dallas are almost too horrible to fathom.

That’s why we do all our 3.2-mile fundraising activities in the fall and spring. Like civilized human beings.

October 7 may seem like a long time away, but it’s just around the corner and the 2012 AIDS Arms LifeWalk is a fantastic way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon.

And for the record, it’s a 5K stroll. Our favorite speed.

So why so much advance notice? Because there’s still plenty of time to get a team together and some groups from last year still haven’t registered for 2012, so now’s the perfect opportunity.

But it’s not all about team fundraising. It’s easier than ever to raise your own funds, but if you’re too busy to go door-to-door Romney style, you can always pay the $40 registration fee, get your shirt and do the walk. Of course, you can always donate more!

Funds raised make it possible for thousands to receive medical care and treatment while increasing the awareness and overall goal of HIV/AIDS prevention.

Other LifeWalk highlights include a doggie obstacle course, food vendors, a special LifeWalk drink courtesy of Stoli Vodka, beer from Miller/Coors and a bounce house for the kiddies to jump around while listening to the beats of DJ ME.

So join a team, grab a friend or simply come out and do your own thing.

Just make sure to wear really cute sneakers. That’s pretty important, too.
