Catfights make the gay world go ’round.
And with the potential for some epic girl battles on the new ABC drama, Nashville, we’re already picking sides.
The story centers around a legendary country music diva, Rayna James (American Horror Story’s Connie Britton) whose star is fading in favor of a bitchy crossover spitfire named Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere of Heroes fame). When the idea of the two adversaries co-headlining a tour, all hell breaks loose.
Throw in some hunky men, politics and an evil, J.R. Ewing-style bad-guy (Powers Boothe), there’s a lot of drama just waiting to burst out of the screen.
It’s executive produced by Academy Award-winning Thelma & Louise screenplay writer, Callie Khouri, so that gives us total faith in the direction of the show and its portrayal of two powerful women.
Hell, we might even start liking country music after this is all said and done.
Maybe.
