Pit Happens

Discrimination sucks.  Even in the doggie world.

And if there’s one breed that’s more misunderstood than any other, it’s pit bulls. Like any dog, all they need is love, attention and proper training to be an obedient companion for life. (Much like your boyfriend.)

Yet they remain one of the breeds that’s most abandoned at shelters.

This weekend, you can help change the fate of hundreds of dogs at Rock-A-Bully, an event benefiting pit bull rescue groups in North Texas, including DFW Rescue Me, Animal Rescue of Texas and Dog Star Pit Bull Rescue. Plus, you might just find a new best friend to take home.

It all takes place at Sue Ellen’s where live bands, food trucks, drink specials and gift bags await. Even Shorty Rossi and Hercules will be on hand from the TLC reality show, Pit Boss, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Dogs are welcome, too, but they need to be leashed, vaccinated and spayed or neutered.

Because the last thing we need is some horny Chihuahua climbing a tiny ladder to knock up a pit bull.
