Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Shiny Balls & Stuff

This is the year we’re getting our Gay VIP card re-issued.

You see, we’ve been bad homosexuals the past few holiday seasons. So busy with parties, traveling and our six-day-per-week Olympic training regimen, we were too lazy to put up a Christmas tree. Sure, we always manage to find a place for our one-ornament Charlie Brown tree and a prominent spot for our leg lamp from A Christmas Story, but this year that’s not going to cut it.

So we’re getting a new 12-foot Ponderosa Pine pre-lit with 10,000 lights to which we will add an additional 10,000 for good measure. And such a grand tree deserves spectacular bling.

It’s too bad there’s not a place in town to get one-of-a-kind handmade ornaments that would do our majestic tree justice.

Oh wait, there is! Beginning tomorrow, Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass presents An Ornament Extravaganza, a celebration of shape, color and everything festive about the holiday season. The exhibit features thousands of glass ornaments available for purchase ($15 – $150) from artists all over the country.

And tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., you can enjoy holiday cookies and eggnog (plain or spiked) to get you in the spirit (and loosen up that grip on your wallet).

Then by Sunday, you can have the second-most fabulous tree in town. We’re getting that VIP card back, damn it.
