Break out the go-go boots and prepare to eat your weight in frosting.
It’s time to start planning for the annual No Tie Dinner and Dessert Party. Not to be confused with our own yearly Nothing BUT A Tie Dinner that was a huge success – once we stopped using padded vinyl seats and serving hot soup.
Though the actual event is more than two months away, the deadline is rapidly approaching for YOU to host your own No Tie Dinner. It’s actually very simple. Plan a dinner for the night of April 6 and invite your friends, lovers, Facebook acquaintances and anyone cute you may see at the grocery store.
What you serve is completely up to you: Fancy, potluck or even a backyard BBQ. All that’s required is that each guest bring you $50, which you will in turn donate to AIDS Services of Dallas. Then after dinner, participants of every No Tie Dinner in the city converge on the Frontiers of Flight Museum for Desserts a Go-Go, a party with hundreds of sweet treats, cocktails, music and dancing. (Go-go boots required. Ties, not so much.)
We’re hosting a dinner ourselves and encourage each of you to step up to the plate…and your stove, too.
As a host, your name appears on the official invitation and you’ll also be invited to an amazing thank-you soirée at a mystery mansion. It’s being planned by none other than Honorary Chair, the fabulous Steve Kemble (above), so you know it’ll be grand.
And just a little bit gay.
