Ever realize that you love two people but don’t even know their names? Happens to us all the time, but it’s usually in a dark alley behind a Chipotle dumpster.
But there are two men in Hollywood that have been entertaining you for years and you might not be aware. Their names are Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato and they’re the geniuses behind World of Wonder, a production company that has produced everything from The Eyes of Tammy Faye and Party Monster on the big screen to RuPaul’s Drag Race and The Fabulous Beekman Boys in your living room.
If it’s reality TV or a documentary film that has even a hint of gay to it, most likely these guys are behind it. And now they’ve got a book, The World According to Wonder, that chronicles 21 years of production and the wild personalities that have been a part, as well as a rather comprehensive look at the reality TV revolution.
It’s a BIG book, too. (400 pages and eight pounds to be exact.) Filled with lush photographs (more than 300 never-before-seen) of queer favorites including Pamela Anderson, Chaz Bono, Andy Cohen, Elvira, La Toya Jackson, Imelda Marcos, Chloe Sevigny and John Waters, it’s one of the most inclusive collections of the pop culture icons that have helped shape our world.
And it’s Wonder-full, indeed.
