Prepare for another British invasion. Except this time, it’s sexy.
Introducing the debut album, Devotion, from sultry artist Jessie Ware. She’s a huge sensation across the pond and we have a feeling she’s going to make a big splash here, too.
Crafting a sound that’s part downtempo R&B, part electronica, and a little bit of pop, her soulful sound is simply mesmerizing. Comparisons to Sade and Whitney Houston are common, but we definitely hear a lot of Lisa Stansfield. It’s an ‘80s flashback with modern relevance.
Her album cover reminds us just a tad of Madonna’s True Blue art and it’s apparent that this is one gorgeous, confident woman. It’s not just anyone who can rock a Power Bun like she does.
Best of all, the U.S. version out today features two bonus tracks.
Sorry, U.K.
America triumphs again.
