Scarface. The Shining. Fatal Attraction.
There are so many ‘80s movies that deserve the Broadway musical treatment. But until those happen, we’ve got a slightly more obvious choice to tide us over.
Tonight, Flashdance – The Musical splashes onto the stage at the Music Hall at Fair Park. Set in Pittsburgh, the story follows working-class Alex Owens as she aspires to become a professional dancer. The show features “Flashdance – What a Feeling,” “Maniac,” “I Love Rock & Roll,” plus 10 new original songs to get your toes a-tappin’ and your leg warmers all hot and bothered.
Arrive early for dinner at the Dining Room where a lavish Flashdance-themed buffet awaits. It’s the best way to secure a good parking spot and not have to worry about having time to eat dinner and still make the show.
Plus, with all that extra time you’ll be able to master a dance routine in the lobby. You know, in case they pull you up onstage during the second act.
