There’s no other explanation for the masterfully created Ice on the Dune, the second album from Australia’s Empire of the Sun. Created by the dynamic duo of Luke Steel and Nick Littlemore, the music reminds us of a delightfully modernized version of Pet Shop Boys. Every song is energetic, wildly imaginative and utterly sublime.
The album’s first single, “Alive,” is also our favorite.
One look or listen and we’re sure you too will be hooked on Empire of the Sun.
After all, it’s their post-apocalyptic, psychedelic world and we’re just living in it.
