Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Tex-Mex With Heart

Every day at noon, we jump out of our chairs and run to our car. Because we’re headed to a three-martini lunch, we figure we might as well get the old metabolism pumped up with some vigorous exercise.

Pay no attention to the fact that our car is parked steps from the front door. Or that our office chair has a hydraulic lift to gently hoist us up.

Perhaps what is shocking is the statement we’re about to make.

Today, we’re cutting back to a One-Martini Lunch. Yes, we know. Maybe we should’ve warned you to sit down first (after all, recent research shows that 93.2% of Gay List Daily subscribers read our stories while standing, roller skating or slack lining).

What you need to know is that this singular martini is quite possibly unlike any you’ve ever tasted. It’s at El Corazon de Tejas in Oak Cliff and it’s a fajita martini that you eat instead of drink. Delicious, chicken and beef fajitas layered atop rice, grilled onions and peppers, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo and shredded cheese. It’s all served with tortilla chips for a sorta personal make-your-own nacho station.

Better still, it’s not even on the menu yet. It’s a secret that will start your lunch of delectable veggie enchiladas, crunchtastic beef tacos or savory chicken chimichangas off with a tasty bang.

Of course, we plan to wash it all down with a few icy cold margaritas. Happily, those aren’t (yet) made of meat.
