Nice Guys Finish Their Wine

It’s never too late to follow through on a New Year’s Resolution. Sometimes the opportunity just doesn’t present itself as early as we’d like. At 12:01 this year, for instance, we resolved to exercise five days per week, drink seven days per week and learn to make Argentine pulled pork empanadas.

We were two for three, but this Friday our trifecta of resolutions will be complete as we hit Central Market for a cooking class with Le Cordon Bleu-trained chefs (and partners) Ryan Levy and Ian Eastveld (above). They’re the vintners behind the award-winning Nice Wines brand and they’re ready to teach us how to cook some great go-to dishes and pair some of their vinos with each.

In addition to those empanadas we’ve been dreaming about for nearly nine months, they’ll be creating crab cakes with chile-lime aioli to pair with a Nice Sauvignon Blanc; Malbec-braised short ribs with dried plums, celery root puree and sautéed rapini paired with Testamento Cabernet Sauvignon; and wine-poached pears and mascarpone whipped cream with a Nice Demi-Sec Sparkling.

This class will sell out, so book immediately to get a prime spot.

After all, we’re pretty sure procrastinating less was one of your resolutions.
