Let’s Give This Girl A Hand!

Sweating sucks. But for most people, it’s merely an inconvenient side effect of working out. Or climbing the stairs that lead into the doughnut shop.

But for Katie Niemeyer, sweat was truly a nightmare. Diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS), her skin would blister to the point of second and third degree burns. So she set out to create a workout accessory that’s as fashionable as it’s good for managing sweat.

It’s called the Handana, a reinvented sports wristband made of soft Supplex Lycra that simply (and comfortably) wraps around your wrist and palm. It allows you to wipe and wick away sweat (and the even ickier nasal drip) that can distract you from maximizing your workout time.

Plus, we think they look pretty cool in a one-gloved Michael Jackson or Madonna sorta way.

Because looking good while exercising is as important as the end result.

Just ask Richard Simmons.
