Gay Pride Festivals are like ex-boyfriends. Or STDs. If you wait long enough, another one pops up when you least expect it.
And this week, it’s time for Tarrant County Gay Pride Week, a celebration so big they’ve spread it out over 11 days. Damn, we wish we owned a rainbow flag store right about now! But we’re still thrilled to help our friendly Ft. Worth neighbors bring on the gay in a big, big way.
Highlights of this year’s events include the big “Pride 365” parade and street festival on Saturday. There’s a pride picnic on Sunday. And then the always-excellent QCinema Film Festival, celebrating its incredible 15th season over four days next weekend.
It all ends with something that combines the best of Fort Worth: cowboys and gays. That’s because the International Gay Rodeo Association (IGRA) hosts its World Finals that same weekend.
So whether you’re in the mood to watch some bucking broncos, some dykes on bikes, or a hilarious gay movie, there’s truly something for every stripe on that big rainbow flag of ours.
