Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Party In The Wild

Finally. A reason to break out our magenta-and-rhinestone ostrich boa. Because next Saturday night is “A Feathered Affair,” presented by The Gay and Lesbian Fund for Dallas (GLFD).

It all takes place at the Trinity River Audubon Center (above), the 120-acre living laboratory full of creatures calling the forest, grassland and wetland habitats home. Plus, it’s a spectacular place for a party.

The event features an all-star lineup of local chefs including Jeff Harris (Bolsa & Bolsa Mercado), Nathan Tate (Boulevardier), Chad Houser (Café Momentum), Graham Dodds (Hibiscus) and Abraham Salum (Komali & Salum). Plus, there will be plenty of award-winning wines and signature cocktails to enjoy on sunset walks or by the moonlit campfire.

If you’ve never been to a GLFD event, they’re always spectacular. The wall-to-wall eligible bachelors are a perk, too. All proceeds from this event benefit the Outdoor Wildlife Pond in the Children’s Discovery Garden to support its science and environmental education program that reaches more than 22,000 Dallas students (pre-K to 12) annually.

It’s also a chance to see more than 220 bird species, all calling the Audubon Center home. So buy your tickets now.

Or egret it forever.
