We’re very experienced with messages in bottles. It’s just that usually it’s the vodka from within screaming, “Drink me then go home with some guy that won’t look nearly as cute in the morning!”
Today, you have a chance to be a part of a different message-in-a-bottle experience. You know, the kind that washes up on shore some place and intrigues the recipient. Public City is collecting 2,000 unique messages to be released around Dallas during the upcoming TEDxKids @SMU and TEDxSMU events.
Everyone is encouraged to write, draw or paint a meaningful message and why it’s meaningful to you (if so warranted). The catch? All messages are due tomorrow, so if you’re going to draw or paint something, better get on that now. If you simply wish to write a message, you can submit that online.
Perhaps it’s an opportunity to share an inspirational message about life in the LGBT community. Or simply encourage others to aspire to greatness. You never know who will find your bottle-covered note, but it could change someone’s life.
We’re thinking of drawing a treasure map that ends at our house. But we still haven’t figured out how to make sure it’s found by a dancer from the Brick.
