Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Dead Kennedys

dal-11_14_13

Next Friday marks the 50-year anniversary of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas, Texas. And all we can think about is how much we still want the pink pillbox hat and matching wool Chanel suit that Jackie wore as she frantically climbed over the back seat of that convertible.

What, too soon?

In the five decades since, there have been countless conspiracy theories unveiled, thousands of stories about JFK’s love affairs, and plenty of talk about a Kennedy curse. Yet for all the negativity and tragedy surrounding his death, the Kennedys will forever be icons synonymous with the glamour of the 1960s.

Tomorrow night, Dallas artist Kat unveils her latest collection at Ilume Gallerie with more than 25 works depicting the former President, his First Lady and the era of rock-n-roll, war, free love and the crusade for peace.

It all kicks off with an opening reception, but the show continues through December 14. Just enough time to give the gift of fine art to everyone on your list.

We’ll be happy with the 24-inch by 24-inch “Jackie” above.

No gift wrap necessary.
