Well, after another failed attempt to launch our own LGBT fundraiser, the No Pants Dinner, we suppose we’re back to attending events that are already established and revered.
That’s why we’re already planning the menu to host a meal at our home for the 2014 No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party. Sure, it’s not until April, but we want to make this year our biggest dinner yet. And that requires grocery spreadsheets, place-card calligraphers and direct tweets back and forth with Martha Stewart for recipe tweaking and tips on condescending tablescapes.
But there’s incentive for you to get started early as a host for this event that raises funds for housing and supportive services for residents of AIDS Services of Dallas.
Simply commit to being a dinner host and invite your friends. They’ll donate $50 and dine on a fabulous meal at your house, plus get access to the all-dessert party on Saturday, April 12. Your dinner can be held the night-of, the night before, or whenever you want. Team up with friends to co-host and throw an even bigger dinner party to raise exponentially more money.
As a dinner host, you’ll get invited to the fabulous Sponsor & Host Appreciation Party, too. Plus, when your guests register and pay online before March 20, they’ll be entered for a chance to win two tickets to Cher’s Never Gonna Die Or Stop Touring Tour (or whatever it’s called).
So start organizing your guest list today, because April will be here before you know it.
And should you be invited to our dinner, rest assured, pants are always optional.
