We’ve never had the actual flu. And we haven’t received a flu shot in more than a decade.
So what’s our secret to staying healthy? We’re no Dr. Oz, but we’re pretty sure it’s because our internal organs are practically embalmed because of our “enthusiastic” alcohol intake.
And possibly even because we like to alternate what we drink based on our own desire to have a theme for everything. That means tequila on Cinco de Mayo, Blue Nun when we watch The Sound of Music, Boone’s Farm Strawberry Hill for both the times we visit our Uncle Boone’s farm and, well, to pair with the bananas in our morning smoothie.
Monday, of course, is St. Patrick’s Day, which gives us plenty of Irish options for imbibing.
This year, though, we’re going to keep things simple by drinking Tullamore D.E.W., the second largest Irish whiskey in the world (because we don’t need to be that showy). Created in 1829, it was the first Irish whiskey to be triple distilled, making it a smooth yet full-of-character spirit that’s best enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
Because we’re part Irish, this will bring back fond memories of our homeland.
We just hope when we finally make it to the Emerald Isle for the first time it’ll live up to our drunken hallucinations.
Fewer leprechauns, no doubt.
