Winter be damned. We hate you and your ice-spewing hatred against humanity. Not because we dislike the cold all that much, but because it keeps us from getting our weekly White Rock Local Market fix, one of our favorite farmer’s markets in town.
Tomorrow, it makes its triumphant return with a kick-off market at the Lakewood Baptist Church parking lot on Garland Road (alternating weeks it’s outside the Green Spot on Buckner Boulevard).
Every Saturday from now until December 2, we’ll be able to get our fill of farm-fresh produce grown right here in North Texas, as well as Cita’s Salsa, beans from Noble Coyote Coffee Roasters, carb-laden treats from Village Baking Co., fresh eggs, and what should be everybody’s Saturday morning ritual, a big bite of a Chicago-style hot dog from Luscher’s Post Oak Red Hots.
Throw in live music, food trucks and a pet-friendly environment and you’ve got a perfect way to start each and every weekend right.
As long as it doesn’t snow in June.
