“Did you ever know that you’re my hero?”
That’s usually what we sing every day at noon when we’re looking at our Subway footlong.
But Thursday, we can warble that to the very woman that made the lyric famous—the one-and-only Bette Midler.
She’s coming to town to be the keynote speaker at this year’s Woman-to-Woman Luncheon (but don’t worry, men are welcome, too!), an event benefiting the Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas.
The event provides substantial support for the programs and services at JFS and helps to grow the agency’s mission of providing professional, effective and affordable mental health and social services that promote lifelong self-sufficiency and well-being for anyone in need regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or ability to pay.
There are still tickets available for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to break bread with Bette.
Or break bread near Bette.
Or break bread from the back of the room with binoculars in the other hand while pretending Bette is looking directly at you.
