Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Daddy Issues

There’s no instruction manual for children. Or so we’re told every time we ask for one to take to a baby shower.

What is available to parents, however, are thousands of books and web sites dedicated to the challenges and triumphs of raising kids.

However, most of them are geared toward mothers. So much so that the term mommy blogger is now just as common an occupation as attorney, doctor or beluga whale trainer.

What was missing was something for dads—gay ones specifically.

So gay dads Brian Rosenberg and Ferd van Gameren (pictured with their three children) created GayswithKids.com, a site which just launched last week to focus on topics that are unique to gay fathers.

A team of gay dad bloggers contribute event listings, recipes, travel destination reviews, personal stories on parenting, op-eds and family spotlights that tell the stories of real families headed by gay men.

It’s the best thing to happen to father figures since George Michael.
