Next week, another Transformers movie hits theaters.

And we get one step closer to giving up on mankind.

But there’s something that may restore our faith in the creative spirit happening this weekend at the Bath House Cultural Center at White Rock Lake. It’s Dallas Indie Festival, four days of film, live music, art, food and vendors selling their handmade wares.

Passes range from $10 to $100 for various forms of access, but they can be found on LivingSocial at a discounted range of $5-$75 if purchased in advance.

Among the film highlights are a zombie flick made by a nine-year-old and his 14-year-old cousin, and our personal favorite, Left Over, which takes a humorous look at a chef determined to win a reality cooking competition in order to start a restaurant.

It’s going to be a beautiful weekend filled with artistic expression in all its forms.

Well, except gigantic fighting robots.
