Et tu, Dirty Harry?
Don’t get us wrong, we’re thrilled to see your softer side come out. And yes, in your defense as far as musicals go, Jersey Boys is grittier and (dare we say) manlier than, oh, Mary Poppins or The Sound of Music. But it’s still a musical, dude.
Yet we can’t wait to see how the man behind Million Dollar Baby and Gran Torino brings the origin story of iconic rock group, The Four Seasons, to the big screen. (We’d tell you first-hand, but we got double-booked the night of the preview screening.)
We have faith, though, because if it’s one thing this guy knows how to do, it’s make leathery skin work in his favor.
Oh, and direct.
In Eastwood’s capable hands are Christopher Walken and hotties John Lloyd Young, Vincent Piazza and Erich Bergen (pictured above with Eastwood), so all the pieces of the puzzle are in place.
The music’s great. The story’s compelling. And the stage version is one of the most successful Broadway musicals in history.
So Walk Like a Man and ask for a ticket. Even if it requires singing in falsetto.
