Nobody tell our Mom, but the most popular musical of all time isn’t The Sound of Music.
And neither is our ill-received Mother’s Day one-man backyard production of Penis! Penis! Penis!
Instead, it’s Les Misérables, the cautionary tale of how devastating carb addiction can be. (It’ll get you 19 years in prison!)
Yet there’s still plenty to sing about.
Starting Friday with a pay-what-you-can performance (which is already sold out, sorry) and continuing through August 17, Dallas Theater Center unveils its thrilling new production of the West End/Broadway classic at the Wyly Theatre.
It’ll be more than enough to make you forget you ever heard Russell Crowe sing in the movie version.
Now that’s a happy ending.
