So when we were invited to see the John Waters movie-musical based on the Broadway musical based on the 1998 movie, Hairspray, at a church, we knew we had our plans set for July 1 weeks in advance.
Well, now that day is upon us and you can be a part of the Social Justice Film Festival held every first Tuesday of the month at Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff.
The free screening includes popcorn and refreshments, plus the opportunity afterward to discuss how the film sheds light on social injustices.
