Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Acting Out

Contains adult situations, strong language and nudity.

The above sentence is not a warning.

It’s our daily mantra.

Our reason for living.

And also a siren’s call beckoning us to the Bishop Arts Theatre Center for the first-ever PlayPride LGBT Festival, a one-act play competition presented by TeCo Theatrical Productions.

It all starts tonight with a $10 preview performance and continues through September 14. At stake, $1,000 that will be donated to the playwright’s chosen LGBT charity, a prize determined by audience votes for the favorite short play.

Works include Mama’s Boy by Antay Bilgutay (for AIDS Interfaith Network), Three Guys In A Bed by Randy Frank Eppes (for the Turtle Creek Chorale), Trapped: A Confessional Tale by Bill Richard (for the Turtle Creek Chorale), Foreplay by Lon Rogers (for Resource Center Dallas), Water by Christopher Soden (for Soulforce) and Pot Liquor by Buster Spiller (for Living Faith Covenant Church and Abounding Prosperity, Inc.).

It promises to be a night of undiscovered talent and an abundance of pride.

Nakedness is just a bonus.
