Cold weather is the ideal time for indulging in comfort food. It’s also a great reason to cuddle up to a big, burly bear so he can keep you warm.
Do both this Saturday afternoon as the Dallas Bears present a Casserole Cook-off.
Or more specifically, the Dallas Bears Old-Fashioned Revival at the Trailer Park Casserole Cook-off. You know we gays can’t do anything without a theme!
If you wish to compete, simply pick up a contestant packet from your favorite Round-Up bartender, e-mail Marc Tuton or download one directly from the Round-Up’s web site. Then whip up your best Velveety, noodly, cream-of-mushroomy creation and prepare to be judged!
Not the cooking type? Show up with your appetite for something served out of a Pyrex dish and purchase tasting spoons when you arrive. Each spoon gets you a vote, so purchase several if you discover a favorite dish. There will also be a raffle with great prizes, too.
Casserolers will compete for awards that include Best Overall (based on the judges’ decision), Best Use of Cheese, Best Use of Meat and Crowd Favorite. Bragging rights are at stake, sure, but it’s also a big fundraiser for the Dallas Bears’ official charities. We just can’t get past that whole “Best Use of Meat” business.
Pretty sure that’s a category at the Adult Video Awards, too.
