Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Not-So-Heavy Petting

usa-04_01_16Before you even stick it in, you know it’s going to make you happy.

That’s what we love about a Pet Shop Boys CD. After 12 albums, they return today with their thirteenth, Super, a glorious opus of shiny, happy, synthy songs. Including one called, appropriately enough, “Happiness.”

Pretty sure “The Pop Kids” will be on heavy rotation at the bars, too.

Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe never cease to amaze, but more importantly, they always manage to evoke a delightful bit of nostalgia for us. Their early albums were such a vital part of our life’s soundtrack, especially during those gay formative years after we came out of the closet, so we’ll always have a fondness for them.

Listen to a couple of the full-length songs (above) and we know you’ll be ready to welcome Pet Shop Boys to the party once again, whether it’s in old-school CD, even older-school vinyl or simply an on-demand digital download.

Because they always feel right at home in the past, present and future.
