Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Dysfunction Junction

dal-05_03_16Chances are, Ochre House Theater isn’t on your radar at all times.

Or ever.

We’ll forgive you for the oversight, but that has to change immediately.

The theater group based on Exposition Avenue near Fair Park consistently produces shows that are both unexpected and unbelievably good. And now through May 21, you can sample the sensation with MORPHING, a revival of one of their original plays written and directed by Matthew Posey.

The story centers on one very dysfunctional family and its matriarch (played by Justin Locklear, above center) who’s addicted to morphine. (Now does the title make sense?). A summer vacation at the family’s Maine beach house turns into a darkly comic catastrophe complete with dancing, music and a man-eating puppet.

Because Little Shop of Horrors shouldn’t have all the fun.
