Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

A Different Kind Of Bubbly

If you haven’t already noticed, there’s a new trend in the adult beverages world: spiked sparkling water.

We’ve been seeing billboards all over town for various brands of alcohol-infused sparkling water, so we drove right to Trader Joe’s to grab a six pack to determine for ourselves what all the fuss is about.

After thoroughly chilling our half-dozen bottles of Colima Lime Truly Spiked & Sparkling, we popped the top and took a sip. Tastes just like sparkling water with a very slight hint of citrus. It’s negligibly sweet, which is a trait we prefer when seeking booze-boosted refreshment.

We tried it on ice, on ice with a squeeze of fresh lime, and straight from the bottle. All methods of imbibing were equally enjoyable and far more thirst-quenching than a beer or sugary cocktail.

usa-08_18_16(2)Truly Spiked & Sparkling gets its alcohol from pure cane sugar, so there isn’t that weird malt beverage aftertaste. At only 100 calories, two grams of carbs and 5% alcohol by volume, it’s a great way to drink all day at the pool or beach without getting completely blotto.

Or bloated.

We’re just bummed we didn’t discover this at the beginning of summer. Just goes to show that you never know when true love will find you.

But we always suspected it would be somewhere in the liquor aisle.
