We love it when a Kickstarter campaign succeeds!
Last year, we told you about Stripling Warrior, a series of graphic novels featuring a gay, Mormon superhero. That fundraising effort helped creator and gay Mormon Brian Andersen produce three full issues of adventures.
But that was only the beginning of a new frontier in the comic world.
Anderson has launched a new Kickstarter that will bring together these three stories along with 58 pages of new material.
What’s even more exciting is that Andersen and illustrator James Neish are expanding the Stripling Warrior universe to be more LGBT inclusive than ever before. The gay Mormon superhero will be joined by a league of trans, lesbian, bi and asexual heroes, too.
If simply helping an artist put out something new and exciting in the world isn’t enough, perhaps the Kickstarter video (above) will motivate you. It’s probably one of the first ones we’ve ever seen to blatantly use hot guys stripping down to their underwear to encourage donations. (Works for us!)
The Stripling Warrior series brings diverse cultures together in a way that provokes conversation while it entertains and educates. Anderson’s voice is unique and one we’re happy to support. Donations start at just $2 and there are lots of cool donor bonuses at higher levels.
Because no refrigerator is complete without a set of naked gay Mormon superhero magnetic paper dolls.
