Celebrate Human Rights

dal-11_15_16To anyone without Wednesday night plans, do we have a great idea for you!

Now more than ever, joining together and celebrating the good in people feels oh-so appropriate. That’s why we want to encourage you to consider attending the Triumph of the Spirit Awards tomorrow night.

Presented by SMU’s Embrey Human Rights Program, the fundraising event features celebrity hip-hop peace crusader, Emmanuel Jal (pictured above), Austin-based country-folk singer BettySoo, and spoken-word performance artists, Journeyman Ink.

It’s an uplifting celebration with tickets starting at just $35 using code “friend” ($50 after today). The reception includes light hors d’oeuvres and there’ll be a cash bar, too.

The bi-annual awards ceremony honors the accomplishments, commitments, and innovations of one international and one local humanitarian. This year, African physician and CNN Hero Georges Bwelle, and local volunteer Carol Brady Houston will be honored for their selfless acts in making the world a much better place.

Now that’s something we can stand up and cheer about.
