It’s never too late to squeeze in a story about Bloody Marys.
So in celebration of the last day of January (and to give you something to look forward to this weekend), we proudly present our pick for Brunch of the Month: Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar. The concept is new to the Dallas dining scene, but there are already two awesome (and convenient) locations, one in the Design District and one on Henderson Avenue.
As the name suggests, the restaurant specializes in two things: pizza and beverages on tap. The latter includes more than a dozen wines and 20 Texas craft beers.
On a recent visit, we kicked things off with a killer Bloody Mary garnished with enough goodies to stave off hunger until all our friends showed up. These must-order brunch drinks are only $5 and feature vodka infused in-house with veggies and chiles. Other boozy options include $3 mimosas with choice of freshly squeezed juice (orange, blackberry or pineapple), and $4 frozen bellinis.
Once our buzz kicked in, it was time to load up on carbs in the form of Truck Stop Biscuits & Sausage Gravy, a bacon-and-egg sandwich and a smoked salmon pie (think lox and bagels, only bigger–and better). Then to totally send our bodies into shock, we ended the meal with French toast and doughnuts, perfectly paired with an amazing peanut butter porter (pictured above). And for anyone not into traditionally breakfasty fare, you can order from the full regular menu of pizzas.
For now, however, we want to go on record and state that we unequivocally loved each sip and every bite.
Right down to the powdered sugar we licked off our collar in the Lyft ride home.
