Brunch Of The Week: Modern Family-Style

dal-02_26_16Trying to decide where to go to brunch can be stressful enough. Then choosing what to eat can really test your problem-solving skills.

(Oh, that’s why we drink so many mimosas.)

But there’s an Uptown favorite that makes brunching fun, easy and super social.

Every weekend, The Rustic hosts a Jam & Toast Brunch with family-style eats from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and live music starting at 12:30 p.m.

For just $16.95 per person you’ll get platters of food to share. That translates to a cheese and fruit plate, country baked eggs with salad, a skillet of bacon and sausage from Rudolph’s Market, hot Nashville-style chicken tenders, creamy polenta cakes on sausage gravy, Baby Fried Toast (a French toast/bread pudding hybrid), and a batch of baked daily mini donuts.

That photo at the top is the spread for only two svelte, handsome, charming gay men, so it’s clear you need to come hungry.

To accompany all that grub, the shareable angle continues with make-your-own mimosas for $9.95 a carafe and pitchers of Bloody Marys and other cocktails for just $20.dal-02_26_16(2)Make sure to sit on the patio because that’s where all the action is. Plus, it’s covered and heated during cold or otherwise inclement weather. Our only advice is to keep your schedule open all day, too, because this is the kind of brunch where you’ll want to linger over cocktails and conversation for hours.

The toughest decision at The Rustic is when to call it a night.

And that’s the sign of any really spectacular brunch.
